Our MD insisted having his picture taken with a tree and because he has led us to year on year growth for the last 10 years, we couldn't argue. Mike is one of the three Partners who founded Wallace Hind in 1992. In 2008 Mike was asked by the team to take up the role of Managing Director. Mike is still actively involved in recruiting and he was delighted in 2012 to be made the exclusive recruitment partner to the PPMA. Outside of work Mike’s passion is reading, reading some more and when he’s not reading he’s being a father to 4 children and and recently became a grandfather.
Having established Wallace Hind in 1992 with fellow partners Mike Horsley and Gerry Bell, John is currently our Sales Director with all of the management responsibilities that entails. John’s recruitment expertise lies in his ability to build complete teams and over the years has developed a loyal client base globally who consistently utilise him to source key personnel across different job functions and market sectors. John is generous with his time, honest in his views and always focused on doing what is in the best interest of his clients and candidates. On a personal level, John’s rugby playing and coaching days are long gone but that competitive streak still comes out in all he does, regardless of the task or goal. With one son at university and another just graduated and moving into corporate life, John ‘s personal time has been freed up to play all the sports he wants to play, and what his body now lets him do!!
Gerry is one of the three founding partners of Wallace Hind, Gerry is experienced in recruiting mid to senior level professionals across a range of disciplines including Marketing, Sales, Operations, R+D, Technical and Production. Married for as long as he can remember with three children, he enjoys watching most sports but only playing golf now, he also enjoys getting to watch live music as well as attending many matches for the Saints and Cobblers.
Tracey has been with Wallace Hind since 1992. She has worked across the entire spectrum of mid to board level appointments in a range of different sectors. In her spare time she studies and has successfully completed her PG Degree in Human Resource Management, gained a CIPD and most recently has become a fully accredited Thomas International PPA, GIA and TEIQue practitioner.
Rod has been with Wallace Hind since 1993 and specialises in sales and sales management up to director level alongside non-sales roles when existing clients ask him to do it! Outside work Rod is married with 2 grown up boys aged 17 and 20. Rod plays golf, keeps fit(tish) gym, swim, run, sports betting, entering Dream Team football competitions and selected celebrity impressions and occasional partying.
Having been with the company since May 1999, Ian covers all market sectors, although having particular experience in recruiting Sales professionals for the Construction, Packaging and Inkjet Markets. Before working here, I had always sold advertising for a number of publications. In his spare time Ian plays golf, spends time with his family and he is a season ticket holder at Northampton Saints.
Matt has been with the business since 2004. Inside of work, Matt heads up Wallace Hind's retained search business. Outside of work he spends the majority of his time with the family and the other majority of his time on the golf course. He's also landed a hole in one in his golfing career, just in case you didn't know......
Phil has been with Wallace Hind since 2011. Predominantly Phil's experience is building eCommerce and Digital teams for some fo the UK's most recognised brands. He is currently building Wallace Hind's new division "Talent Solutions" which is a recruitment offering to service the Northamptonshire Region. Outside of work Phil has been retired from playing rugby by the Managing Director and his wife, so maximises his time on the cricket pitch in the summer and coaches a local rugby and football team through the winter.
Ian has been with Wallace Hind since 1999 and is the “The Grandad” at Wallace Hind with 28 years recruitment experience (but can still beat the youngsters at most things) he works across Sales, Marketing, Operational, Manufacturing, HR and Technical positions across a variety of markets including FMCG, Consumables, Healthcare, Electronics and all other sectors. In work “Mr Lyons” is a part time crooner and outside of work Ian is still trying to get to a single figure handicap.
Victoria has been with the business since 2012 and in a short space of time has been promoted to lead our internal resourcing team. A graduate in Geography and French, Victoria trained as recruitment consultant before choosing her path in the candidate sourcing arena. She has built up an impressive portfolio of successful out search campaigns across all sectors and disciplines. Outside of work Victoria enjoys travelling and experiencing new cultures and languages.
There aren’t many roles that Lee hasn’t covered, but for the last few years he has focused his time on his passion - leading and developing our Charity and Not-for-Profit sector, and his first love - all things engineering. So whether it’s a Senior Executive in a Charity or an Area Sales Manager for an Engineering firm, Lee is equally at home. Lee joined Wallace Hind (for the second time) in 2013 but started his recruitment career in the mid 90’s, supplying IT contractors before the internet! Over the years he has gone on to cover all kinds of recruitment from Technical IT to Senior Telecomms Executives, from Operations Mangers to Graduates. In addition, Lee has provided Candidate Attraction Consultation, helping businesses identify ways they can help to attract candidates directly (which may seem counter intuitive). In amongst his time in recruitment, Lee also spent a number of years heading up UK sales for a Communications Software Company, dedicated to helping SEN Learners improve their educational engagement, something he found highly rewarding and it’s what gave him the impetus to focus on the Charity Sector today. Outside of work Lee has a number of passions – he’s a dedicated motorcyclist, having built and ridden his own creations, is a practioner of Iaido and Jodo (Japanese Martial arts involving the sword and the staff) as well as being Dad’s taxi to his two growing girls.
Zoe has been with Wallace Hind since 2015 and brings over 10 years recruitment experience She recruits sales and marketing professionals purely into the technology industry working with leading vendors, distributors and resellers. Zoe is the resident feeder, she bakes a lot and is always bringing her bakes in for the team- Our wannabe Mary Berry! She also loves to exercise, drink a lot of prosecco, walk her dog Jenson Beagle, get her nails and eye lashes done - she isn’t a princess at all J Zoe’s favourite TV Programmes are Game of Thrones, Suits, The Walking Dead and Eastenders!
Kerry has been placing candidates into permanent roles for 15 years now. She joined the business in 2016 to work on the contingent vacancies in the Talent Solutions Team. She has specialised across a number of markets; Sales and Marketing, Occupational Health and HR functions, Office Support and bespoke positions to support internal recruitment teams. When not recruiting she is still talking! - over a glass of fizz with friends or using her voice on the side line of a football pitch, supporting her sons.
Currently Tony is working within the Process & Packaging Machinery sector, recruiting at various levels across a number of disciplines including: Sales, Export, Technical and Operations, predominantly for ‘Owner Managed Businesses’. Tony prides himself on understanding the culture of his clients and realising that each customer has different needs when recruiting and making sure that he matches both skill sets and culture. Tony has been with Wallace Hind Selection since 2010 and has enjoyed a long and varied career in recruitment (longer than he would care to admit to). He started, as many recruiters do, cutting his teeth on the ‘high street’, running a permanent desk, then spent a number of years running contract desks. His experience has seen him recruit in many arenas, including overseas and took him as far afield as the Middle East. Latterly, Tony has concentrated on running dedicated Advertising and Headhunt assignments, on a retained business. Outside of work, Tony is an amateur Trombonist and spent 10 years as a musician in the Territorial Army and over 20 years playing in Brass Bands. His most memorable moments were when he played at the Royal Albert Hall and Wembly Stadium. More recently, he was instrumental (no pun intended) in forming a comedic jazz band, loosely based on the iconic 60’s band, The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. Tony is a keen supporter of rugby union and a Vice President of his local club, Long Buckby RFC…
Glen is our retail design and local legend recruiter. Glen's local market knowledge is very strong, unlike his left calf muscle. Glen is one of our more colourful characters who can offer eating and drinking venue advice with spot on ratings across the county (including lock ins) Glen is another Gym liar, he still hasn't joined one and I'm predicting he probaly won't. He also has an art of getting people to do things for him, so if you hear "can you come and...." you're signing yourself in for a job! Outside of work, Glen is aproud father and when he's not meeting friends (playing poker), going out for dinners (with the lads) he's usually playing golf with his golf friend (Craig).
Jim Kelly has 20 years experience within Recruitment Consultancy and has been part of the Wallace Hind team since 2003. Previously he worked for Adecco, MRI Network and Staffline Recruitment. Jim’s recruitment specialisms cover a spectrum of positions, from Sales & Marketing and Commercial; to Board-Level. Industry sectors include: Medical / Healthcare and Engineering. Jim’s interests relate to exercise and music (both playing and watching).
Stuart Platt has been recruiting since 2008 and has a broad experience of sourcing commercial and technical personnel. He is a key member of the PPMA (Process & Packaging Machinery Association) team at Wallace Hind, where he sits as a specialist in Service, Process and Design Engineering. Stuart graduated from South Bank University, London with a degree in Film Studies, but despite that – and him insisting that Heat is the greatest film ever made, he is a popular member of the team. In his spare time he plays modern board games, walks his three dogs (Loki, Peanut and Rocket) and is a Professional Wrestler. What? Really?
Julia has worked for Wallace Hind since 1999 and over the last 4 years she has taken on the role of Web Manager. Julia is responsible for ensuring all of our online talent attraction tools are consistently enhanced so that our client’s web advertising appears on the best web boards available and that their advertisements gain the best exposure. Out of work Julia enjoys exercising and being outside. I have completed two London marathons and recently completed the K2B challenge in The Lake District walking 40 miles in 1 day.
Jason Cooper has 21 years of experience within Recruitment Consultancy and a professional career within engineering sales and design before moving into recruitment. Jason joined Wallace Hind in January 2017, previously working as an independent consultant and with organisations including Modis Group and Staffline Recruitment. Jason’s recruitment specialisms cover roles from professional engineers, sales, manufacturing, supply-chain to board Level. Jason’s interests relate to road cycling, photography and cooking up the odd meal for family and friends.
Joel is the newest member of the team having joined Wallace Hind since early 2017. Having a keen interest within the industry, he’s currently building a substantial marketing network for the Financial Services. We haven’t really scratched the surface with Joel yet, but he does have an excellent sense of humour having picked up the nicknames “Band Camp” and “Trumpet”. Mainly because he plays the Trumpet in a military band – Very childish of us! When he’s not at work, you can find Joel playing a game of Squash, attending regular sporting matches with his Granddad, or visiting old friends up and down the M1. He’s a local lad, with loads of drive, determination and enthusiasm. He is a fantastic addition to the team.
Jo first joined Wallace Hind in 2006 as a Systems Administrator, before following her husband to Cornwall where they were both offered a job. However things didn’t quite go to plan and in September 2011 she returned to the Wallace Hind family and took on a new role of Recruitment Resourcer. After leaving school Jo studied Tourism Management at Coventry University, and she quickly found herself employed with in the leisure industry, at a local golf resort and health complex after graduation. However, with the arrival of her eldest daughter in 2005, the long ‘unsociable’ hours of working did not suit the family life, and she found herself in the Wallace Hind offices. In her current role at Wallace Hind she is part of the resourcing and talent identification team, but not only this, Jo assists with Credit Control, the running and the administration of the weekly Business Development sessions, and all other things administration which is asked of her. Away from work, Jo’s interests include spending time with her family, which now includes another daughter born in 2013. They enjoy going camping and walking their dog at local parks or woods. They like nothing better than a day at the seaside! Jo is also an avid supporter of both the local rugby and football teams, going to matches whenever possible.
I have recently joined Wallace Hind as a Recruitment Resourcer where with my organisation skills and confident attitude, I hope to expand my knowledge in all market sectors and be an asset to the team. I left school with Performing Arts BTEC A Levels and knowing that University was not for me and realising I was too family orientated to move to London to try and start a career in music, I went straight into an administration role within the security industry. After spending 3 years there where I liaised with the Recruitment team on a daily basis, I knew I wanted to expand my knowledge and get myself into the recruitment industry. Outside of work, I do love to sing (mainly karaoke) and I enjoy socialising with friends on nights out/weekends away. I also love to horse ride whenever I can and I always love going on a summer break. I also follow the Saints Rugby Team where I love to be in the atmosphere at the stadium.
Michael Joined Wallace Hind at the start of 2015 following 16 years of employment within Insurance and Finance. With experience of working as a successful sales, procurement and contracts manager and possessing a wealth of knowledge in public sector finance and procurement, he adds additional resource to Wallace Hind’s already expansive industry and sector knowledge base. He also brings a solid background in corporate and personal healthcare solutions and cost containment with him. Michael is married, loves to cook and enjoys live music of all varieties.
