There are potentially long lead times for larger project based sales, so some of your activity will be targeting quicker wins with customers by selling them spares, repairs or redesign and smaller, lower value items possibly replacing a few racks or shelves or containers. Other good ways in to customers are selling rack inspections and then supplying products on the back of their recommendations; also from inquiries and sales contacts from the company’s very successful online catalogue. You will run your territory as your own business and reap the financial rewards with success in the role. They will consider candidates in their first or second field or internal sales roles who are ready for the next step up into the role. You will need to be a new business generator, driven by results, who is not afraid to sell to new customers.
