JOB DESCRIPTION: Head of Operations & Finance - Adhesives, Chemicals, Retail
As the Head of Operations & Finance your focus will be to manage the company’s Finance, Business Administration & Operations including IT, HR, General Office and Facilities. This is a very hands-on role and will suit someone who comes from a strong Finance background with an appreciation of how the numbers are used to shape a developing business. Reporting directly to the UK Managing Director your key tasks will be to:
Support the Managing Director with the day to day running of the business and delivering the company strategy
Directly manage a team of 5 but be the go-to person for everyone (total team of circa 35)
Oversee staff operations, business partnering, budget development, business modelling and forecasting
Manage all the company’s support functions including Finance, HR, IT, General Office and Facilities ensuring they are optimised to meet our commercial goals
Be the main first contact for ALL staff to ensure optimal daily running of the company
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Head of Operations & Finance - Adhesives, Chemicals, Retail
Ultimately you will be an excellent communicator used to managing many different projects and wearing many hats. You will also be able to demonstrate success as a Senior Operations Manager / Finance Director / Commercial Director / General Manager ideally within a manufacturing environment for a growing SME, as well as being:
A hands-on operator with excellent finance skills (ideally ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified but QBE will also be considered) and a rounded business acumen
Someone who creates a warm and inviting working environment for all staff
A candidate who sees the importance of documenting robust processes and is comfortable implementing and working towards structured SOP’s
Excited by the prospect of working on multiple projects at once. Adaptability is something this role demands
Comfortable with ERP systems and other IT systems such as SAP and SAP B1
A keen team player who is excited by innovation and creativity as well as having a commercial awareness and business acumen

It is likely you will have previously shown strong Finance and communicational skills, managed the Business / Support functions for a thriving SME business and worked with and overseen a variety of departments. It is also likely that you would have undertaken one of the following roles: Support Services Director, Support services Manager, Operations Manager, Operations Director, Plant Manager, Site Manager, General Manager, Commercial Director, Head of Operations, Supply Chain and Logistic Manager, Group Operations Manager, Finance Director, Finance Controller, Head of Finance, Director of Finance.
