JOB SPECIFICATION - International / European / Export Sales Manager – Educational Furniture, Seating to Dealers, Distributors and Resellers
Concentrating on the company’s core educational seating/ furniture range. This is an important expansion role for the company as part of their 3-5 year plan. There is some existing turnover in Germany, Scandinavia, Benelux and Eastern Europe - but there is huge potential, so this is predominantly a new business role to start with. Markets include office and educational furniture and supplies dealers and resellers and B2B distributors and more general distributors. The role will involve strategically looking at each country’s market, its shape and potential, the most effective way to develop existing markets, and most importantly the best route into new ones. There will be huge potential to bring on board and grow new dealers in existing and new territories. Year one target will be circa £700k, year two £1m. You will be given all the marketing and other support needed to succeed in the role.

* To be considered for this challenging, but potentially very rewarding role in terms of earnings and career progression you will need a proven track of success in an International, European or Export sales role which will ideally include dealer or possibly distributor or reseller management.
* You will need to be able to demonstrate success in new business development. This will ideally be in a BTB rather than consumer product, preferably in something similar, or with some sort of synergy or lateral matching points with my client’s range. You will be fluent or business proficient in German, any other languages relevant to the territory would also be preferable.

My client is a £600m company based with over 3,000 personnel worldwide. They are a manufacturer of furniture for education, health, local government and commercial markets, the largest privately owned furniture manufacturer of their type. Several years ago they acquired a company that was one of, if not the, the world’s top educational seating manufacturers. This company was already very well established in the UK, this acquisition has enabled them to increase their product range and turnover in the UK and branch out into Europe. The parent is a well- established player at the upper end of the general office furniture markets, they have 35-40 staff based out of plush new premises in central London and annual sales of over £17m,over a third of which comes from education.
