Based in Loughborough, we are seeking a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer / Service Engineer, ideally with knowledge of Motors, Gearboxes and Hydraulic systems to provide PPM and Emergency breakdown support across our site.

SALARY: Up to £37,000 basic

· O/T payable after 40 hours. 1.5 x Salary Saturday & 2 x Salary Bank Holidays & Sundays.

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer or Maintenance Engineer who is excited by the prospect of getting up close and personal with some the of the UK’s largest extrusion presses and we need your expertise to keep them running.

As Mechanical Engineer / Maintenance Engineer you’ll be reporting in to Maintenance Manager and form part of a dynamic team of three Maintenance / Service engineers per shift.

You’ll already know about the importance of PPM’s and keeping on top of Health & Safety but as the work level and load varies regularly you’ll need to demonstrate a flexible, creative approach to problems & troubleshooting.

Working hours are:

40 hours / week, 3 shifts: 6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6, Mon-Fri with weekly rotation BUT typically 12- 20 hours per month overtime is available, so it’s a great opportunity to increase your earnings.

PERSONAL PROFILE: Mechanical Engineer / Maintenance Engineer

You MUST be a qualified Mechanical Engineer OR a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with a 60% mechanical bias and have a solid knowledge of Motors, Gearboxes and Hydraulic systems.

Any exposure to PLC’s (preferably Schneider) would be ideal but is not essential.

Because our kit is big and heavy you’ll need to be physically fit and prepared to work in a demanding heavy engineering / industrial engineering environment.

Ultimately attitude is key. We’re looking for Mechanical Engineers / Maintenance Engineers with a strong work ethic, someone who will throw themselves into the role and who thrives on challenge.
