Process Engineer

Brand new role in Peterborough for an experienced Process Engineer who has developed processes and production improvements within a cell manufacturing environment. This experience could come from a variety of manufacturing industries such as: pharmaceutical, FMCG, chemical, food or industrial.

SALARY: £35,000 - £45,000 :  dependant on your previous practical work experience

·Improve the overall efficiency of the plant and the production process throughput by reducing cycle times
·Work in conjunction with the quality engineers to ensure process capability is achieved
·Support and contribute to the introduction of process controls and generation of the foundational documents such as process mapping, Cause & Effect Matrix, PFMEA’s, Control Plans and Control Charts
·Monitor and manage processes via implemented process controls
·Reduce process waste and change over times
·Reviewing and generating work instructions and standard operating procedures
·Generate, coordinate and report on trials to develop the processes
·Work closely with the Technical department developing new product and processes
·Manage the introduction of New Products and support the introduction of new machinery and equipment
·Assist in machine operator training and developing their instruction manuals

You must have:
·A proven practical process engineering background which will have been gained in a shop floor / hands on process engineering role - rather than only a formal engineering education
·Strong problem-solving skills – utilising root cause analysis, design of experiments etc, statistical analysis (SPC) and be able to complete risk assessments of your work
·Practical knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma principles and their associated tools (although formal qualifications might be sponsored)

You will also have a background that includes some or all of the following:
·Health and Safety – you can demonstrate your ability to work safely both independently and as part of a team with minimum supervision
·Management process engineering projects - utilising a small team of process engineers on larger projects; ensuring that tasks, teams & individuals are lead effectively and developed to meet the company’s objectives
·Quality Systems & management – a clear understanding of the requirements and needs of standards and customers
·Continuous Improvement – be able to identify & initiate process improvements or change activities effectively in line with business priorities and objectives
·Flexibility & resilience – deal with various levels of work and demands within the needs of the business
·Stakeholder management –collaborate effectively across all business departments
·Work from engineering drawings and understand geometric tolerances
·Be I.T literate– Microsoft Office, Minitab (or similar)
·Experience of New Product Introduction
