Role – R&D Manager (Speciality Chemicals)
A full job brief will be made available to shortlisted candidates but in summary and in support of our growth strategy, we wish to recruit a R&D Manager to:
·People & Project Management - Manage and coach a UK based R&D Team (7 direct and 6 indirect reports) to deliver key R&D / NPD growth programmes for this division for Europe.
·Safety – Be responsible for all health and safety and drive a “Zero” incident culture
·Research & Development - Manage multiple projects aligned to business priorities and developing innovative products to maintain short and long-term growth.
·Budgetary Responsibility – Manage the investment plan for our European Adhesives laboratories.
Person Requirements – R&D Manager (Speciality Chemicals)
We would be delighted to receive applications from R&D Managers who:
·Are degree or PhD qualified in Polymer Science, Material Science or Chemistry related (Formulation or Composites) technologies.
·Are experienced in managing and coaching R&D Scientists/Chemists to develop and deliver new technologies / projects. You could already head up a R&D team looking for an innovative, progressive organisation to develop within, or be a No.2 ready to step up and lead your own R&D team.
Any experience within our product arena and/or market sectors would be advantageous but is NOT a pre-requisite as the following attributes are more important:
·The ability to manage a diverse range of characters and nationalities, balancing the need for leadership, motivation and direction to develop and deliver new, cutting edge products/solutions whilst building and maintaining a cohesive, motivated R&D team
·A commercial astute, level headed approach to all you do with a genuine passion for business and a business needs
