Technical Sales professional or Qualified Engineer who wants to get into a consultative Sales Engineer role? We are a Milton Keynes based manufacturer and distributor and this is an expansion position as we continue to grow. You will be selling a range of high spec sensor / data logging solutions to industries such as Automotive / Aerospace / Formula One

SALARY: Up to £35,000

JOB SPECIFICATION - Sales Engineer / Technical Sales

This Sales Engineer / Technical Sales position is an expansion role, working from a Milton Keynes site and visiting customers across the UK & Ireland. You will be meeting with clients to introduce / demo specific sensor / data logging solutions to clients from several vertical markets (including Aerospace / Automotive / Formula One), with a wide range of applications. This role will focus on the sale of a solution / introducing a concept of how these equipment / machinery / engineering projects could add to a client’s offerings and data gathering services. You will be selling to technical / engineering personnel who act as gatekeepers – but will make most of the buying decisions. Get the engineers on board and the sales will come.

You will dual visit, alongside representatives from the manufacturing principals and invite customers to those manufacturers’ showrooms to demonstrate and present. Once up to speed, you may be out the office visiting clients 2-3 days per week.

This sales process is a traditional features / benefits sell, offering a solution to increase that business’ offerings, or replace existing equipment. This will suit those with extensive sales backgrounds, but we are also particularly interested in qualified engineers who want to move into a more commercial position. Credibility as an engineer is very important.

REQUIREMENTS - Sales Engineer / Technical Sales

We require a qualified engineer (at ONC / HNC or above) who falls into one of the following categories:

·An experienced sales professional with a background of selling an engineering / technical product or service.


·An engineer with some experience in a role with customer interaction who wants to move into a front-line sales engineer / technical sales position. This experience could come as a Project Engineer / Applications Engineer / Design Engineer / Customer Service or Support Engineer (for instance.)

Good IT skills are essential. Any exposure to Matlab would be a bonus.

Most importantly, you will be a credible engineer, happy to work and sell to customers at sites across the UK.
