Wind Turbine Service Engineer

SALARY: £30,000 - £40,000

· Overtime : T 1/2 after 47.5 hours, T 1/2 Sat & Tx2 Sun (Hours are paid door 2 door)
· If staying off-shore = additional £60 / night.
· Travel: Company vehicle, fully fitted, business mileage only.
· Phone / Laptop.
· 20 days holidays Bank Holidays.
· Pension.
· Uniform & PPE / tools all provided.

LOCATION: Ideally you’ll live in Scotland or North UK

Based either in Scotland or North UK (Liverpool, Manchester, Teesside) and covering North UK, Scotland and UK off-shore with occasional European off-shore work.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Wind Turbine Engineer / WInd Turbine Mechanical Engineer / Multi-skilled Service Enginee

Are you like us? We’re looking for Service Engineers who have a passion for service excellence, who want to develop their professional skills, who take pride in their work, who will see a job through to completion and who love a challenge.

To keep pace with a growing number of vertical access service contracts we need a number of permanent, full time, experienced Wind Turbine Maintenance / Service Engineers to join our team. The work is incredibly varied and you’ll always be busy, no matter what the time of year.

You’ll be working in pairs to carry out a wide range of Statutory Inspections, PPM (planned preventative maintenance), fault finding and short notice repairs to onshore and off-shore wind turbine equipment.

You’ll also need to be happy working at height as your role will include:

 Servicing of Lifts, Fall arrest systems, Hydraulic lifts, Cranes, Slings, Motors, Gearboxes, Bearings, Clutches and Winches.
 Inspection & Servicing of ancillary equipment, including: Fire Extinguishers, Lifting Eyes, Ladders and First Aid Kits.

To be considered for this position you MUST be either:

· A Wind Turbine Mechanical / Electrical Maintenance / Multi-skilled / Service Engineer, Offshore Medical (UKOOA) approved with GWO training, LOLER knowledge and service lift manufacture experience – i.e. Avanti, Skyman, Power Climber, Tractel or Hailo.


· An experienced WGT Statutory inspector with previous Industrial Mechanical / Multi-skilled service engineer experience, looking to progress into a more interesting / challenging role.


· A Lift, Crane or HIAB (Palfinger, etc) Mechanical engineer with Wind Turbine Sector experience.

Whatever your background you MUST be prepared to work at height in all weather conditions and be willing to stay away from home regularly for up to 2 weeks at a time although typically this will only be 2 / 3 nights per week.
