Reporting to the company MD as Senior Mechanical Product Design Engineer you will be responsible for leading our Engineering & Design team, currently made up of a Design Engineer and a Project Engineer. You will be responsible for multiple projects, from cradle to grave. As well as using your hands-on product design experience to continue the ongoing development of our unique range of physical security solutions, you also will work closely with our blue-chip clients to design and build bespoke solutions, tailored to their exacting needs. Your time is likely to be split 70% on Mechanical Product Design and 30% managing / mentoring your team. Your responsibilities will include: ·Hands on mechanical product design.·Full project lifecycle management, from inception to delivery. ·Maintenance and control of technical documentation.·Ensuring all solutions are correctly specified, designed and tested taking into account current standards and legislation. ·Provide pre-sales technical advice / support. ·Work to exacting specifications that take account of form, fit and function whilst being mindful of budgets, costs and deadlines. You will also provide regular project progress updates and reports to the Senior Management team. PERSONAL PROFILE - Mechanical Product Design Engineer You MUST be a qualified Mechanical Design Engineer with a proven track record of product design and development. You MUST have 3D modelling software knowledge – Inventor is preferred but cross-over training will be given and any ERP experience is desirable, we use EFACS but again full training will be provided.
