Business Development Manager

This client was a Danish manufacturer of packaging solutions. This region was managed by one individual covering multiple countries, to focus on developing business in the region, they decided to employ an experienced and proven salesperson to maintain and grow turnover.

The Challenge
The biggest challenge of this role was finding a proven sales professional who, without a large support infrastructure, would work professionally and autonomously in a manner that their clients had become accustomed.  This needed to be balanced with a high energy, sales focussed business developer who would bring new business to the table and network through those accounts.

The WH Solution
The client was open enough to consider sales professionals from a range of different industries – so we ran an open and wide-reaching advertising campaign. In addition, we matched from people that we had previously met and / or registered who had more specific packaging experience. The initial response generated over 150 applicants, 23 of whom were spoken to, and eight of those were interviewed and presented the opportunity.

The Result
Wallace Hind successfully completed the project within the pre-agreed timescales and budget. Such was the success of the project Wallace Hind was selected to manage a campaign to source a similar candidate based in Australia.  In the client’s words “I really need someone I can trust.”
