Our client required a commercially minded Finance Manager with experience of providing business critical commercial direction via a sound base of financial acumen. Having visited their UK operation and met the relevant line manager, the main challenge was the specific requirement for candidates to have an in-depth experience of commercial exposure. The position had been filled for over 10 years and a more modern approach was needed and for someone like-minded and happy to roll their sleeves up and get involved.

Understanding the culture of the business was crucial; our client had a very established team, fitting into their culture was vital to success. We had 3 meetings with the business prior to initiating the campaign including a tour of the facility to ensure we really understood the culture of the business. With a role of this type, given the level of trust involved, the right person had never been more important to this organisation.
The decision was taken to run a full eSearch campaign, posting optimised adverts across all of the UK’s leading job boards in various geographical locations within easy commute of the head office and an international airport.
The campaign was successfully delivered on time and to budget. From the 175 individuals who applied, 24 were sent an addendum requesting additional information and we interviewed 12 and shortlisted 5. 3 were then taken through to second interviews and 1 was formally offered and accepted the job.
