One of the UK’s leading manufacturers of healthcare products required a Head of Finance to join the senior leadership team and provide direction to operational teams across the entire business.
The Challenge
The previous post-holder had operated “finance” as an island and did not provide the other operational teams with the information they required when they needed it. We knew it was imperative to find an individual that stood out and who the senior leadership team would automatically recognise as the right person for the role. As a consequence, we were retained to find this critical replacement.
The WH Solution
Having reviewed the job brief with all parties, it was agreed we would run an eSearch campaign specifically targeting suitable candidates within a 60 mile radius of their manufacturing site. The position was advertised around the region on all of the UK’s top job sites; Total Jobs, Jobsite, Linkedin, Reed, CV Library amongst a number of others. Having undertaken this type of sophisticated campaign in the past, we knew how to write the advertisements and package the company correctly to attract the right standard of candidate.
The Result
The response was excellent. From the 224 individuals who applied, 24 were initially sent the brief and an addendum requesting additional information to support their application. After reviewing them, we interviewed 14, shortlisting 6 for first interviews. Our client took 2 back to final interviews and 1 was formally offered and accepted the job.
