Our client is a major manufacturer with global facilities who were looking to strengthen their purchasing and supply chain function and form strategic alliances with their suppliers and sister companies within the group.
The Challenge
Based in a rural location within the Midlands and no major manufacturing sites close by, we had to find candidates that had the strategic purchasing experience on a global stage. Working with the HR team and the European Business Director we were able to identify their needs and cultural fit to match the European operation and the ability to get along with the Head of Global Supply based in the USA.
The WH Solution
Having reviewed the job brief, it was agreed we would run an eSearch campaign specifically targeting applicants with pan European purchasing experience from within a manufacturing based organisation. We also considered attracting qualified CIPS candidates that could step up to a Global role who wanted to head up, develop and implement global strategies and strategic partnerships.
The Results
From the 154 individuals who applied, 13 met the initial brief on paper. This number was reduced once we had spoken to and collected additional information from the potential candidates to 6 who had initial interviews with Wallace Hind. Of those, 4 were submitted to shortlist with the client, 3 were taken to a final interview and the position was subsequently offered and accepted.
This was our 5th assignment with the company and we are still continuing to support their needs today, now on our 9th campaign.
