Financial Controller

We are an established but rapidly growing group business looking for an adaptable finance specialist with excellent people skills to join our team. We have a varied group of companies working across different industries, adaptability will serve you well in this varied and exciting position.

BASIC SALARY: £55,000 – £65,000

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Financial Controller: Construction, Heavy Plant, Machinery

As the Financial Controller, you will have a wealth of experience in a commercially focused finance function within a fast-paced SME environment with a turnover of somewhere between £5-£20million. We would be delighted to receive applications from Financial Controllers/ Manager/ Business Partners or qualified Management Accountants with aspirations to secure a move to a progressive business.

In addition, you will have:
· A finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) would be preferred although we are happy to receive applications from candidates who are qualified by experience (QBE)
· Strong management experience twinned with excellent communication skills and the willingness to have commercial input at ground and board level
· The ability to take an overall commercial view of our business and have an input into change and progression from a financial perspective
· A wealth of strategic planning experience

JOB DECRIPTION: Financial Controller: Construction, Heavy Plant, Machinery

The main duties will include:
· Motivating, leading, and mentoring financial team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback & support
· Assisting the Group FD in preparation and submission of all company financial information including Statutory Accounts, VAT & Tax reports
· Supporting the monthly group consolidation process with particular focus on balancing inter company accounts
· Cash flow management including forecasting
· Stock accounting and valuations including stock taking process
· Preparing and leading statutory audits
