They required someone responsible for driving continued growth within the UK business, a qualified and experienced Procurement Specialist to lead the purchasing department, responsible for creating, developing and driving purchasing strategies, negotiating best terms on a European basis, initiating supplier development and partnership optimisation with all major suppliers (direct and indirect) covering c£25m spend

Having reviewed the job brief with the HR Director and CFO, it was agreed Wallace Hind would run an E-Search campaign (A “blind” Internet based advertisement campaign) specifically targeting suitable candidates commutable to our UK Head Office. The position was advertised (3-4 adverts per job site) across all of the UK’s top job sites including Total Jobs, Monster, Jobsite, Linkedin, Reed and CV Library amongst a number of others to maximise the quality and quantity of response.
From the 328 applications we received, 30 were sent the brief and an addendum requesting additional information to support their application. Having reviewed those, WHS interviewed 11, shortlisting 3 for first stage interviews. From the 3 shortlisted, 2 were invited for second interviews and 1 was offered the role.
